A By Kaminski piece is not pulled from a shelf. It is made one at a time, sewn slowly in the studio. Reserving a commission reserves your place in that making, and pays for the fabrics that make it possible.
How a commission works
- You choose your piece, from the current collection or something made for you.
- You pay a 50% deposit. It secures your place in the making schedule and buys the fabrics for your piece.
- We make it. Your lead time is stated when you order, per piece.
- The balance is due before dispatch, invoiced to you.
- Your piece arrives numbered, with its hand-finished certificate, and your one fitting and alterations are included.
The terms, plainly
- Every piece is numbered one-of-one. There is no second.
- Commissions start at £1,955 and never go below it.
- Lead times are real: a thick-yarn design takes two to three weeks from deposit to dispatch, one to one and a half weeks in the studio and one and a half to two with the tailor. A complex fine-yarn design takes six to ten weeks on the same split.
- One fitting and alterations are included in every commission.
- The balance is invoiced before dispatch. Your deposit goes straight to work: chem-free fabrics, samples, hand-finished certificates and exclusive packaging.
Who makes it
Luxury built on care rather than spectacle. Fabrics are chosen chem-free where they can be, and slow work is fairly paid. Every piece is designed and made by hand by Diana Kaminski, one at a time, in small series; building a small atelier is the next step as the house grows.
